This is the third of three prototype TVR Trident Coupés, designed by Trevor Fiore and hand-built in steel on stretched TVR Griffith 200 chassis by Carrozzeria Fissore of Turin in 1965. It was shown at the Turin Show in November of that year before being sent to TVR Cars, where it was dismantled and stored until 1972. Over the next decade or so it passed through the hands of several optimistic restorers before being acquired by its current owner in 1986 and finally being fully restored back to its original condition by Stirling Moss’s ex-racing mechanic, Don Haldenby. This included sourcing a Ford 289 ci V8 engine with 4-barrel Holley carburettor, Borg Warner T10 gearbox and Salisbury Powr-Lok 4HU limited slip differential. Asking price £125,000 Nobody got it correct!
