Enter Air

It is not a known airline in the UK, but Enter Air has been around since 2010 and is listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange since its IPO on 14 December 2015.

The Polish-based airline provides seats for UK operators such as Sunvil Holidays and Mark Warner from Gatwick using Boeing B737-800 aircraft. Destinations this summer include Corfu, Lemnos, Preveza, Rhodes, Skiathos and Zada.

Enter Air saw its revenue increase by 138% to £200m in 2021 compared with the previous year – its third highest revenue in the airline’s 12-year history after 2018 and 2019.

The company made a net loss of £21m in 2021 as it battled the impact of Covid-19 restrictions and “numerous waves” of the coronavirus.

Grzegorz Polaniecki, who sits on the airline’s management board, said the Enter Air team have had “to expend enormous effort to survive” over the past two years.

“Even though this challenging time has not come to an end, and the market is facing surprises in the form of more and more tragic events, our group is skilfully defending and developing its position”, said Polaniecki.

“Frequently, a crisis experienced by some, creates an opportunity for others to grow. We hope that following the restructuring we underwent in 2021 our group will grow even stronger in comparison with our competitors”.

Enter Air fleet consists of 24 Boeing 737-800s and two Boeing 737-MAX 8s with orders in place for an additional six and options on a further two.

Good luck Enter Air in summer charters from Gatwick but the profit margins are wafer thin and susceptible to EU261. Seat brokers take the profits and leave behind many failures; FlyJet, Atlanta, Excalibur, Astreus, Excel, Ambassador, Sabre to name but a few.
