Transport Ministers gather

The World Summit of Transport Ministers takes place from 18–20 May in Leipzig (Germany).

Ministers from the 63 member states of the International Transport Forum (ITF) at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) will attend.  The event is expected to attract more than 1,000 delegates from 80 countries.

Under the auspices of Grant Shapps, Secretary of State for Transport, the United Kingdom takes on the role of Presidency from Morocco for the next 12 months during the gathering.  British delegates include Julia Simpson, CEO & President World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC).

The theme of the 2022 Summit is "Transport for Inclusive Societies":

  • How can transport policy develop mobility networks that are easily accessible to all – regardless of age, health, income, place of residence, gender?
  • How can transport policy improve opportunities for citizens by making it simple to reach the destinations that count: jobs, schools, doctors, shops, friends?

Please note the event is being streamed.
