CAA and young people

Springpod is the chosen partner as the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) launches a virtual aviation work experience programme for young people.

Established in 2018 Springpod is a Liverpool-based career network which sources virtual work experience for pupils unable to find hands-on job placements.

The partnership aims to provide young people with clear insights into career opportunities available and to provide them with the knowledge to take their first steps on an exciting career journey in aviation and aerospace.

The Aviation & Aerospace Virtual Work Experience programme is expected to see thousands of students from across the UK aged 15 to 18, gain an invaluable insight into the world of the CAA and its role in the aviation and aerospace industry.

The programme begins on 25 July and will run for five days. Students will learn about some of the critical areas and responsibilities of the regulator, including the formulation of strategy and policy, the impact of Covid-19 and space regulation.

Students will also be given the chance to interact with leading industry experts who will share their own experiences on what it takes to work in the industry as well as gaining access to an exclusive post-programme mentorship scheme.
