Air One at Coventry

Today (Monday 25 April) sees the opening of Air One, the world’s first fully operational hub for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, at the Westminster Road car park, Coventry (postcode CV1 3FZ), a site owned by the local County Council, who are supporting the scheme.

Whilst designed for the new era of eVTOL vehicles, people and cargo movers, the proof of concept demonstration will see a large drone perform take-off, flight and landing and is timed for 14:00.

Ricky Sandhu, founder and Executive Chairman of Urban Air Port, said that the new facility would give an air machine a place to land, take-off and charge their batteries.  It will “bring clean urban air transport to the masses and unleash a new airborne world of zero emission mobility”, he added.

Munich Airport has lent its expertise to the project in conjunction with Urban-Air Port the lead, together with Supernal, a division Hyundai.
