If you are travelling in the US make sure you stick to the rules which have changed sincethis piece was written. The United States Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has announced that it will extend the federal mask mandate for all transportation networks, including on aircraft and in airports, through to 3 May.
The mandate was set to expire on 18 April but has been extended due to a new Covid-19 surge fuelled by the BA.2 variant.
The extension was ordered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which stated: “To assess the potential impact the rise of cases has on severe disease, including hospitalizations and deaths, and health care system capacity, the CDC Order will remain in place at this time”.
