Visitors from other parts of Oz, and for that matter the rest of the world, are now permitted into Western Australia.  They must meet the requirements of the Commonwealth government and undertake a Rapid Antigen Test within 12 hours of arrival

Whilst for the time being Darwin still the gateway to  Perth from the UK Qantas announcing on Monday morning (4 April) that the direct flight will return 19 June.

Predictably Qatar Airways were quick on the scene offering flights via Doha.

Demand for flights to Western Australia have increased as Gary Kershaw, Regional Manager UK & Ireland at Qatar Airways, explains: “Perth has always been popular with our customers, but since Western Australia announced its opening on 3 March we’ve seen extraordinary demand with searches up 141% month on month and sales up 332%. It’s our most popular destination in Australia for Brits at the moment”.

Also on the international front Singapore Airlines is now twice daily.  

Domestic flights from  Perth are now back at 2019 schedules.

I’ve flown both ways LHR-PER, 17hrs with great Oz cabin service. Perth is much easier for a Sydney connection than Singapore with the long lounge walk. Darwin would work even better for me.
