Normal for Iberia and also Emirates

Spanish airline Iberia has outlined plans to offer 85% capacity across its global network this summer, with domestic and European routes leading the charge.

Europe leads the recovery, with the carrier planning to operate at 100% capacity this summer. On domestic routes to the Canary Islands and the Balearics, Iberia and its subsidiary Iberia Express will offer seat capacity at 27% above 2019 levels.

The carrier expects to operate 340 long-haul flights per week, with 220 of these to Latin America and 120 across the North Atlantic, including new routes to Dallas and Washington DC, and the resumption of services to San Francisco.

In Dubai, Emirates has outlined plans to return to pre-pandemic flight frequencies across its Indian network during April.

The airline said the move was a result of the Indian government’s decision to restore international flights to and from the country in line with established bilateral agreements.

The carrier plans to operate a total of 170 weekly flights to nine cities across India from 1 April, including nine flights a week to Ahmedabad, 24 to Bengaluru, 21 to Chennai, 28 to Delhi, 21 to Hyderabad, 14 to Kochi, 11 to Kolkata, 35 to Mumbai and seven to Thiruvananthapuram.
