Following last week’s BTN news that London is to be reconnected with the Isle of Man, Dublin has jumped in first.
See BTN 14 March Isle of Man & London.Emerald Airways, the new Aer Lingus franchise operator, last week introduced a six times per week service between Dublin International Airport and Ronaldsway, Douglas Airport. There are no flights on a Saturday. Extra capacity will be added for the Isle of Man TT Races.
A single class 68-seat ATR 72 provides the service with a flight time of just 50min.
Commenting on the announcement, Ciarán Smith, Head of Commercial at Emerald Airlines, said: “Today’s announcement is a much anticipated one. As the demand increases, travellers are looking for more convenient and affordable options for travel between the Isle of Man and Ireland, and we want to facilitate just that.
I am sure this popular route will see passengers take advantage of the leisure and business opportunities it presents”.
