The oneworld airline continues to fly some routes to the East.
(See Finnair crisis in last week’s BTN.)Shanghai and Seoul will now continue. Whilst flight times have increased to 12-14 hours due to the requirement to avoid Russia, the extra costs are being offset by increases in cargo rates.
Services to Osaka and Hong Kong are suspended until at least the end of April.
Tokyo, Bangkok, Delhi, Phuket and Singapore flights operate as per the schedule as these avoid Russian airspace.
The positive news is that the airline is pushing ahead with the refit of its long-haul cabins with the new Business Class seat and, for the first time, a small Premium Economy cabin.
