Westbury to become St Regis

Originally built in 1955 The Westbury Mayfair is to become a (Marriott) St Regis property following a £90m transformation.

Sited near the junction of Conduit Street with Bond Street it is within a short walk of Bond Street Station which will offer direct Elizabeth Line services to Heathrow.

Last late last year the hotel closed, auctioning off its furniture and fittings.  It is expected to reopen in 2023, with an additional eighth floor being added. Features will include 196 rooms and suites designed by Peter Newman-Earp of Morrison Design, with interiors by Richmond International.

An extension to the rear of the property will create “enhanced public areas”, and the building’s facade and drop-off area will be remodelled.  The existing Polo Bar will be retained, and there are plans for a signature restaurant, speakeasy jazz bar, fitness centre and spa.

There are currently no St Regis properties in London – The Lanesborough, Hyde Park Corner, previously traded under the brand, but was reflagged under the Oetker Collection in 2015.  Marriott International currently operates 16 properties under the St Regis brand across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The future St Regis London will certainly enhance the company’s luxury footprint across the region.
