London City tops league

The east London airport is gradually coming back to life with up to 6,000 passengers moving through on a daily basis although far less than the halcyon (and crowded) days in summer 2019. March will see 41% of 2019 flights.

It was too busy and a terminal rebuilding project was under way, part of a development scheme which included an electronic remote control tower and parallel taxiway, both now complete.  The passenger terminal scheme is now on hold.

Last year 55% of London City Airport (LCY) led the nation’s capital with passengers travelling by sustainable transport modes compared with Gatwick 53%, Heathrow 45%, Luton 42% and Stansted 41%.

This is the current LCY programme until the change of schedules Sunday 27 March.
