BA to Nuremberg

Terminal 3 is to be the departure point when British Airways introduces Nuremberg as a new destination to its Heathrow short-haul network on 27 March.

Flights to this very much cultural city will initially operate four times a week from March 27. The schedule will then increase to six flights weekly from 1 May and then revert to four for the winter season.  The rail service from the airport takes travellers into the centre in 12min and runs every 10min.

Nuremberg is Bavaria’s second largest city after Munich, offering a spectacular historic island city centre with its market, eateries and and castle, plus the Nazi party rally grounds, a specular reminder of how people can be led.  The war crimes tribuneral was also held in Nuremberg and the War Trials Memormium is another place to visit, the €6 fee barely covering the operationg costs.  With the Danube running through the city it is an excellent place to join a river cruise, either west to Amsterdam or towards Budapest.

Neil Chernoff, BA's Director of Networks and Alliances said: “After over 20 months of travel restrictions we know our customers are looking for new and exciting places to visit, so the addition of this route to our short-haul network ahead of the summer season is perfect timing for anyone who would like to plan their trips for the year ahead”.

Last month, BA CityFlyer also announced new short-haul routes from London City to Luxembourg, Barcelona, Guernsey, Jersey, Milan and Thessaloniki operating from March 2022. The airline has also relaunched new gateways to the US, through the Atlantic Joint Business, such as London to Portland and Barcelona to Los Angeles as well as the addition of the islands of São Miguel and Terceira to BA's Heathrow short-haul network launching this summer.
