French travel and Spanish travel

According to the Daily Mail half-term holidaymakers, for some UK schoolchildren the week starting next Monday (14 February), could face problems entering France if they have not received a third vaccination since May 2021.

Eurostar warned customers of the move, stating: "If you had your full vaccine course nine months ago or more and you haven’t had a Covid-19 vaccine booster, you must follow the rules for unvaccinated passengers to enter France".

Without a recent jab, France will effectively treat travellers as though unvaccinated and will only allow them to enter with a "compelling reason", such as on compassionate grounds.

In the meantime Eurostar has on sale some “exceptional” fares, starting at £35 to both Brussels and Paris.

Spain’s official tourism website states: “If you need a vaccination certificate, this must have been issued by the competent authorities of the country of origin at least 14 days after the date of administration of the final dose of the complete (first) course of vaccination, as long as the final dose of that course of vaccination was no more than 270 days ago. From that time, the certificate must show the administration of a booster vaccination”.
