Majorca for Channel Islanders

Blue Islands has joined fellow Channel Island airline Aurigny in offering flights to Majorca this coming Easter. (See BTN 24 January.)

The big difference is that Blue Islands is using a 78-seat ATR72 from Jersey taking 2hr 45min whilst Aurigny out of Guernsey offers its Embraer 195 which will be in the air 2hr 15min and carries 120 passengers.

Rob Veron, CEO Blue Islands, said: “Our direct European services have been extremely popular over the past couple of years – we’re looking forward to offering a convenient, direct service from Jersey to Majorca this Easter. Flights depart Jersey at 10am, arriving in Palma in time for lunch”.

Blue Islands is operating direct Saturday services to Mallorca, for 7-night stays on 2, 9 or 16 April.

Veron added: “From our Jersey hub, we’re uniquely placed to offer seamless direct services to Europe, with convenient morning departure times and 23kg hold luggage included as standard; there isn’t an easier way to enjoy the Balearic sunshine this Easter”.

Blue Islands will also be making an effort to interest Majorca residents to visit Jersey, a somewhat different island but still exciting island, in order to fill up the opening return flight, and also the final service for the series.
