City of London Westin

Historically an area short of 5-star hotel space, the City of London will have three new deluxe properties open by the end of March.

BTN has reported on the Pan Pacific and the expected opening of the Hyatt Regency in March.  Now open is the Marriott Westin London City.

The 222-room property is located on a riverside site close to St Paul’s Cathedral and overlooking the Tate Modern and Shakespeare’s Globe theatre. You can read a review of the Westin London City here - it appears to have an excellent spa.

The hotel has been designed by UK architects Dexter Moren Associates around the theme of wellness. This includes the Heavenly Spa by Westin offering six treatment rooms and an indoor pool, which has been built above the archaeological remains of the historic Huggin Hill Bathhouse.

Westin London City also features two restaurants overlooking the Thames: wine bar Hithe + Seek and the all-day dining outlet Mosaic.

The hotel includes 1,060sq m of meeting and events space, including a 400 capacity ballroom.

The hotel is Marriott’s 1,000th property in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region across all of its 30 brands.
