American Airlines changes at the top *

The charismatic boss of American Airlines (AA) Doug Parker will step down as Chief Executive Officer on 31 March 2022 and becomes Chairman of the Board.

Parker has a long and distinguished career in the airline industry and has held the AA position since December 2013 when the airline emerged from bankruptcy protection.  Parker was at the time CEO of US Airlines with which AA merged. In more recent times he has steadied the ship during the pandemic crisis.

Robert Isom, currently AA President, will succeed him.

I feel extremely fortunate to hand the reins to this clear and capable leader.”

Isom, who was named President in 2016, brings more than 30 years of global industry and leadership experience across finance, operations, planning, marketing, sales, alliances, pricing and revenue management.

Scott Parker is the manager for Bournemouth AFC. Doug Parker is my former CEO at US Airways and American, however I am sure he can manager a premier league team.
