Brown’s Hotel in Mayfair is having to turn away breakfast business according to long standing General Manager Stuart Johnson.“Of course residents are welcome,” he said.
One of London’s most prestigious 5-star hotels, Brown's is now part of the Rocco Forte collection, and where Rudyard Kipling wrote the Jungle Book and Alexander Graham Bell placed the first telephone call,. It is very busy in the run-up to the holidays suffering from a quality staff shortage “But we are not the only one,” he noted.
For this year the hotel is running a promotion called “The Nutcracker Immersive Dining Experience" in the cosy surroundings of Charlies, the hotel’s Michelin starred restaurant (only one date left – 19 December with two sittings).
The brochure says it all: “Step through our doors and be transported to Edwardian London, where you’ll join us on an immersive adventure with award-winning actors, magicians and ballerinas, set to the evocative sounds of Tchaikovsky’s masterpieces.”

Pity about the lack of breakfast for Browns Hotel visitors. I assume that if I am meeting a guest staying they will be able to serve me.
