Ryanair’s October

Dublin’s favourite airline delivered what can only be described under the circumstances as a robust set of figures for October.

The Ryanair Group, which includes Air Malta, flew 11.3m, what it now terms as ‘guests’, in the October, compared with just 4.1m in the same month last year.  Load factor (LF) improved from 73% to 84%. October has been the busiest month of the year for Europe’s largest low-cost carrier, just beating August, normally the best of the year, this time coming in with 11.1m ‘guests’ and 82% LF.

In a supplement to the accounts Ryanair said that it hoped to open an astonishing 560 new routes and 14 new bases in the current financial year.  The airline has a current cash balance of €4.24bn (up from €3.15bn at 31 March).
