Airport transfer

A new British (Maidenhead) based company has gone live founded on the increasing demand for a "contactless travel experience."

AirportTransfer.com aims to meet the requirement to eliminate as much hassle as possible at the airport, a side-effect of the Covid-19 problem.

The company says it is bringing together tourism, marketing, and technological design experts to provide the safest and most sustainable services possible for the transfer of passengers.  The company already has more than 500 business partners in nearly 30 countries.

Research shows that passengers spent approximately 90mins at the airport in the pre-Covid-19 period. This period can be up to 3hrs during peak time passenger traffic. While most of this time includes essential processes such as check-in, security, border control, baggage claim, evidence suggests that passengers spent extended periods accessing transportation facilities within the airport. The data convincingly show that digitally-engaged solutions could effectively produce a safer and more relaxed passenger travel experience, especially important during the pandemic process.

AirportTransfer.com claims to pave the way for safe end-to-end travel by adding ground transportation to the digital transformation process. It allows passengers to choose the vehicle type that suit their needs, request extra services, and pay online.

The website says it searches "all available transport companies". It doesn't. Put in Paddington Station to Heathrow Airport and the cheapest option is £62.50, taking 37 minutes. For just over a third of the price and under half the time you could use Heathrow Express. You'd also be far more environmentally friendly!
