Singapore Airlines re-opens lounge

The Heathrow Singapore Airlines SilverKris Lounge at T2 has re-opened.

This follows a steady growth in the airline’s UK schedule and the change of Singapore’s status with the UK’s green list.

Both the First Class and Business Class sections of the lounge are now welcoming eligible customers travelling with both Singapore Airlines and Star Alliance member airlines. As part of the re-opening, and in light of the current situation, some new features will help ensure everyone’s ongoing comfort and safety.

In the First Class Lounge, the existing à la carte meal service continues to be available. Within the Business Class Lounge, customers can request their dish at a hosted selection which replaces the self-service buffet previously offered.  Customer favourites, including Singapore Laksa and Carrot Cake in First Class, plus Chicken Nasi Lemak in Business Class, continue to be available.  Pre-plated items, such as sandwiches, cakes and fruit, will also be available for those wanting a lighter bite, or with less time prior to their flight.

As part of re-opening the lounges, customers will be able to sample the new Singapore Airlines – Connoisseur Dry Gin, created in partnership with Hayman’s of London. Crafted to celebrate the 50th year of continuous Singapore Airlines flights from London, the London Dry style gin features four additional Asian botanicals – Kumquat, Lemongrass, Galangal and Persian Lime – to give a delicate Southeast Asian twist. The new gin is served exclusively in the lounge and will be available as a G & T or in two special cocktails; currently ‘An English Garden’ and ‘Exotic Citrus Cooler’.

Mohamed Rafi Mar, General Manager UK & Ireland, Singapore Airlines, commented: “We are delighted to re-open our London Heathrow SilverKris Lounge for both First and Business Class customers after such a long period of enforced closure. We have made adaptations to ensure everyone’s safety and are delighted to once again provide fliers with a calming space to relax in before their flight with us.”

Both staff and customers will continue to wear masks within the lounges, except where customers are eating or drinking and social distancing will be monitored.

Singapore Airlines currently flies 18 times weekly from Heathrow to Singapore, plus three times weekly from Manchester to Singapore.
