Canada has reopened its borders to fully vaccinated travellers for non-essential travel. This news comes after the country was added to the UK’s ‘green’ list for travel at the end of August.
The Canadian government is accepting travellers who have been double jabbed with vaccines by Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Astra Zeneca/CovidShield and Janssen (Johnson and Johnson) at least 14 days prior to entering Canada.
Fully vaccinated travellers entering Canada must also take a pre-arrival PCR test no more than 72hr before their scheduled flight.
The change to the country’s rules has been made based on the latest “data, scientific evidence and epidemiological situation both in Canada and internationally.”
Canada still has a ban on direct flights from India until 21 September.

David Starkie,
Interestingly, Canadians can only cross the US border if they fly; no surface border crossings allowed (freight excepted of course). An idea for Anglo-Scottish travel?!
