Toronto City Airport

Air Canada is back at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport and Porter Airlines passengers are going to find life more comfortable.

Following the long shutdown due to the pandemic Air Canada will next Wednesday (8 September) resume its five flights daily de Havilland Dash 8 service to Montreal.  Many of the passengers will be connecting long-haul.

On the same day Porter will introduce flights to a number of Canadian destinations and has taken the opportunity to update its passengers’ accommodation.

The airline’s 29 Dash-400 aircraft all now feature the new TiSeat E2 from Expliseat, the world’s lightest aircraft seat, along with a number of other cabin enhancements.

The seats use a combination of composite and titanium materials, making them approximately 50% lighter than the previous seats and reducing aircraft weight by approximately 1,000 lbs. This reduces approximate annual fuel consumption by 500,000 litres and corresponding CO2 emissions by 1,200 metric tons.
