A very depressing report was published last Friday (13 August) by the Business Travel Association (BTA) which vividly revealed the decline of business travel trips following Covid-19.Data from Travelogix, a leader in the world of travel data, reporting and analytics, shows that in the first week of August 2021, international business travel trips from the UK dropped by 86.74% from 2019 pre-pandemic levels – with a reduction of 273,698 business trips in the past week.
The data clearly reveals that for just last week travel restrictions to the Republic of Ireland has cost UK £786m, Germany £510m, USA £400m and France £271m.
In pure cash terms this amounted to £3.71bn.
The report was published to support the 11th edition of the BTA’s Business Travel Tracker.
