Blue Air results

With aspirations to be listed on the London Stock Exchange (See BTN 26 July) Blue Air is keeping up its visibility.

In a statement last week the Romanian airline said that it expects to fly a similar number of passengers in August as in 2019, provided no further travel restrictions are announced.

Blue Air carried over 300,000 passengers in July, equivalent to 77% of the number flown in July 2019.  Flights are now consistently operating with load factors over 80%, across a stronger network with an additional 32 new routes.

Blue Air has taken delivery of two 737-8-MAX aircraft from an order for ten.

Krassimir Tanev, Chief Commercial Officer, Blue Air, observed: “In 2021 we have embarked on an ambitious multi-year commercial strategy focused on becoming the ultra-low-cost airline of choice for our customers and strengthening our leadership position on our home market. Blue Air has adopted a new brand code and motto –The Better Way to Fly – we have redesigned our product portfolio to offer more transparency, simplicity, usability and personalisation; we have completely re-invented our network to make it even more competitive and attractive, focusing on primary and central airports and introducing 32 new routes under the summer ‘21 schedule.”

At present Blue Air has UK routes to Birmingham, Glasgow, Heathrow, Liverpool and Luton airports.
