British Airways and New York

With the go-ahead for US eligible citizens to travel to the UK (and onward into Europe) British Airways has reopened its flagship Galleries lounge at JFK’s Terminal 7.

The lounge is available for customers travelling in First, Club World and eligible card holders, ahead of the flight to Heathrow.  The airline currently flies twice daily with a three-class Boeing 777.

The First Wing and First check-in are also open to ensure a smooth start to the journey.

British Airways’ customers will also be able to use the airline’s innovative new digital app ‘Your Menu’ to order food directly from their mobile device to their lounge seat after scanning a QR code. The app is available throughout the lounge, meaning that customers can select from a wide range of complimentary food and beverages.

At Heathrow all transatlantic customers have access to the Club and First lounges from Terminal 5, which also boasts a new sleep zone ‘Forty Winks’, allowing travellers to rest ahead of their flight.

Elsewhere the airline recently reopened three domestic lounges in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Barry Graham, Washington, DC

I hope that Virgin is following suit. Currently they are still canceling flights out of and into Washington DC causing all sorts of interesting situations for people like me that were relying on those flights. Thankfully with a lot of hard work and pulling some strings (both of which shouldn't have been necessary) I was able to find other ways of getting there and back with Virgin.
