Norwich takes off

Loganair has introduced an air service between Norwich and Exeter. At around 300 miles it is marginally England’s longest non-stop air route, Heathrow – Newcastle being a few miles shorter. Both road routes have to use the notorious stretch of the M25 between Junction 12 and Junction 20.

The new route operates up to four times weekly, flying Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays and Sundays, connecting business and leisure travellers alike.  Using a 49-seat Embraer 145 regional jet, scheduled flight time is just over one hour, the alternative journey by road six hours minimum, and by train from Norwich not very practical with a change at London Liverpool Street required and then the Underground to Paddington.

Norwich has also seen the recommencement of services to Edinburgh up to four times per week.
