New Guernsey routes for BA Cityflyer

Two additional routes are being launched for summer to Guernsey by British Airways’ subsidiary BA Cityflyer.

Guernsey and Edinburgh will begin on 25 June and be twice weekly using Embraer E190 aircraft. The flights will operate on Mondays and Fridays and run until 27 September.

Last month, BA announced twice weekly Embraer E190 services to Gibraltar and Jersey, also starting on 25 June.

“We’re confident our new route from London City Airport to Guernsey will be popular this summer with customers looking for a UK getaway. And, it’s an honour to be launching the only direct service between Guernsey and Edinburgh this summer,” says Tom Stoddart, Managing Director of BA CityFlyer.

Guernsey is set to open its borders to travellers from the UK, Jersey and Isle of Man from July.

Passengers arriving from the 'Common Travel Area', which also includes the Republic of Ireland, will no longer need a coronavirus test or to quarantine on arrival.

I thought the Republic of Ireland border was closed to UK residents. Does it not apply the other way around (re Common Travel Area)? OK, Guernsey is not in the UK, but should this matter in this case?
