Following BTN’s monthly cruise review Monday 5 April we learn that Celebrity, Disney Cruise Line and Virgin Voyages have confirmed start-up dates for UK-based "seacations".
Setting sail from Southampton from Saturday, 3 July, the remodelled Celebrity Silhouette will embark on a series of six- to eight-night itineraries around Britain’s coastline. Guests will have the chance to explore the Jurassic Coastline from Portland, and learn about the Highlands and Lowlands. Inverness, Kirkwall, Glasgow and Belfast plus the spiritual home of the Atlantic liners Liverpool.
Virgin Voyages will be based at Portsmouth and offering three- and four-day trips on Scarlett Lady, its maiden voyage due 6 August, the ship unveiled to the travel trade (and media) at Dover 21 February 2020. After a solid night of partying, she left the following morning for Liverpool and thence on to New York, the crossing and high-profile arrival aborted mid-ocean due to the pandemic. Portsmouth will welcome the largest ship ever to visit the home of the Royal Navy.
Disney is joining what is hoped is the great British seaborne holiday rush from Tilbury with Disney Magic and a three-night trip on 11 June, followed by a two-nighter 14 June and a great opportunity to find out what Disney Cruise Line is all about.
The April cruise issue has been updated with these new holidays.
