Kings Cross train services

Monday 12 April may be the day when hospitality opens and people will be thinking of getting out and visiting friends and relatives around the country, but if you are planning to use the East Coast Main Line the following weekend have another think.

From Friday 23 to Sunday 25 April LNER is advising prospective customers not to travel to or from London. During that weekend there will be significant disruption with no trains in or out of London King’s Cross or to or from London St Pancras via Finsbury Park.

LNER says that there will in addition be a reduced number of trains and extended journey times to and from London King’s Cross until Monday 7 June, along with a further weekend closure. The government-owned train operator is expecting the May bank holiday weekends to be particularly busy.

These works are the latest part of the East Coast Upgrade, the ongoing £1.2bn investment into the East Coast Main Line that will improve capacity, create faster journeys, and increase reliability on long-distance train services.
