Sky News reports that Virgin Atlantic is holding discussions with creditors and shareholders about an additional £160m bailout package six months after it received a £1.2bn rescue deal. This will include a £100m loan from Branson's Virgin Group, the airline's majority owner. Around £60m of further deferrals will be granted to the company to avoid further pressure on cashflows.
The company has taken "early, decisive action" to minimise their costs, preserve cash and protect as many jobs as possible, since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. The airline has a close working relationship with minority (49%) owner Delta Airlines particularly effective for its Indian sub-continent, Israel and Nigeria routes.
Virgin Atlantic is currently operating the following services from Heathrow T2. Upper Class and eligible passengers are able to use the Premium Plus lounge for passengers.
