Thames river bus returns

Amongst the many transport enterprises returning to some sort of normality from next Monday (29 March) is Uber Boat by Thames Clipper boat service.

The pre-Covid-19 services ran at 20min intervals between key London piers including North Greenwich for The O2, Greenwich, Canary Wharf, Tower, London Bridge City, Westminster and London Eye (Waterloo), as well as several residential piers.

Thames Clippers will be operating a bespoke RB1 service between Woolwich (Royal Arsenal) and Battersea Power Station piers on the basis that the Government Step 1 remains unchanged. Measures are in place to support social distancing at piers and on board the vessels, as well as an enhanced cleaning regime.

Popular with commuters and tourists before the pandemic, the use of the facility also makes for a great day out for Londoners, something different and learning about their city.  When fully operational 23 piers are served along a stretch of water 15 miles long.

Bikes are carried free of charge (20 maximum per vessel). All the boats and piers are wheelchair and pram accessible except for Cadogan, London Bridge City and Wandsworth Riverside Quarter piers.

If your Oyster card is linked to a Transport for London (TfL) Travelcard, you will automatically receive ⅓ off.

BTN plans an ON TOUR river view of London from the Thames at a later date.
