Airport testing

Collinson, the UK’s largest airport testing provider, has been accredited to offer the mandatory Government testing for all incoming passengers.

While often referred to as ‘Day 2 and Day 8 tests’, the Government guidelines state that travellers can be tested any time between arrival and Day 2.  Collinson is able to offer arriving passengers the first test directly upon arrival in the airport terminal, saving travellers an additional trip. There are testing sites at East Midlands, Heathrow, London City, Luton, Manchester and Stansted airports.

Collinson is also hoping that, by passengers taking the first of the required tests at the airport on arrival, it can begin to track results and compare them to the Day 8 test in order to build valuable data that can be used to help encourage the Government to shorten the ‘Test to Release’ quarantine period this summer.

“We’ve been working with the rest of the aviation and travel industry over the past year to create the most flexible, convenient testing processes for passengers coming in and out of the UK, and that’s because we’ve always known airport testing will be at the heart of travel recovery,” said David Evans, joint CEO, Collinson. “This green light today makes us the only provider who can offer testing as soon as the passenger arrives at the airport – from day zero – and it means we can help alleviate some of the burden from the NHS, which is currently the only organisation running the mandatory testing for arrivals.

The testing package is priced at £198.  Arriving passengers should follow the Government guidelines.
