The Department for Transport has issued a massive protocol which it calls “Safer aviation guidance for operators”.What would in the past be a massive document, it covers some 27 topics ranging from local and national restrictions, through the passenger journey, to arrival in the UK.
The safer transport operator guidance sets out who should be at work and who should be self-isolating, how home working can be enabled in the transport sector, and measures to protect people who are at higher risk of severe illness from coronavirus and who are shielding.
Most of the advice is perfectly straight forward and simple to live with but such a mighty tome is yet another government offering that airports and airlines will have to deal with in a post pandemic world.
