Vistara – London to Mumbai

The market between Heathrow and Mumbai will become increasingly congested when Vistara joins the route on 16 January.

Heathrow is also currently flown by Air India twice daily (except Monday and Wednesday), British Airways daily and Virgin Atlantic on Tuesday and Thursday.

Vistara will operate flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The airline already flies to Delhi on a Sunday and Wednesday from Heathrow T2, a service introduced in August.  (See BTN 31 August

The airline is a joint venture between Indian conglomerate Tata and Singapore Airlines (SIA).  Heathrow is part of the ‘transport bubble’ agreement between India and the UK.

The services will be using Vistara’s brand-new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, with Business, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.

Leslie Thng, Chief Executive Officer, Vistara, said: “We are delighted at the very positive response to our service between Delhi and London Heathrow which has encouraged us to further strengthen the network by adding connectivity from Mumbai as we see considerable demand between the two countries, and remain optimistic about the future. Vistara is well-positioned with its brand new fleet, world-class cabin products, award-winning service and, more importantly, the trust of our regular clients.”
