The Royal Aeronautical Society (Heathrow Branch) is sponsoring a lecture led by Jonathon Counsell, Group Head of Sustainability – IAG. The first of what is hoped will be a (short crisis only) series of discourses will take place next Thursday (24 September) at 12:00 noon.
Mr Counsell is President of the Heathrow branch.
He calls the talk “The Journey to Net Zero Emissions post Covid-19.”
“British Airways and IAG have always taken their impact on their environment seriously and are committed to playing their full part in addressing the critical issue of climate change. So when the United Nations scientific body released their report in October 2018 concluding that we needed to avoid temperature increases of no more than 1.5 degrees rather than 2 degrees we began assessing how we could meet this new ambition. More importantly we also considered how we could work with the rest of the global airline industry to continue the important role we have played in combatting climate change."
