Duxford this coming weekend has been cancelled due to new Government rules concerning Covid-19. Other crowd-pulling events also have been negated. Reluctantly the British-Irish Airport Expo in early October is another last minute casualty but in both cases the organisers were more fortunate than the promoters of the Southampton Boat Show, one of the world’s great executive and pleasure craft gatherings who were forced to cancel last Friday with all the boats and stands in position and people actually turning up at the gate.
World Aviation Festival was an early loss replaced by virtual conference 23-25 September. It does have the benefit of gaining speakers from all over the globe, but the vital networking is not taking place. Cost is £100 for the whole package with complimentary passes available for airline or airport executives. (see BTN 7 September)
A question mark must be placed on World Travel Market, due at ExCeL London, 2-4 November. BTN will be monitoring the news on this one. No announcement yet on the AOA Annual Conference which usually takes place towards the end of November.
