Etihad in Israel

Whilst no firm services have been announced between Ben Gurion Airport Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi International the travel trade has been building up expectations of connection travel through the UAE hub.

This follows the historic normalising of relationships between Israel and the Arab State and the first direct passenger flight between the two Middle East countries as reported in BTN 31 August.

Indian service group TAL Aviation Group is represented in both countries.

"Over the last few weeks, we've seen an increase in demand in the Israeli market and a desire to get back to flying. We are excited at the opportunity of working with our new partner Etihad, and to be able to offer our Israeli customers the ability of experiencing the airline’s superior levels of in-flight service to many destinations across its extensive global route network,” comments Nissim Sagis, TAL Aviation's Chief Commercial Officer.

Etihad tickets are now on sale in Israel, the airline keen to point out connecting opportunities.  One airline from each country is expected to service the route.
