‘Let’s Eat – At Your Seat

Let’s face it Wetherspoons have been doing it for some time but full marks to London North Eastern Railway (LNER) who are now trailing an ‘at-seat’ catering offer enabling customers to order and pay for food and drinks from their phone in the comfort of their own seat, without having to visit the onboard cafe bar.

The ‘at-seat’ service also addresses the 40% of UK consumers who want to access digital ordering and payment technology to minimise physical contact and support social distancing measures at this time.

A trial has commenced, with plans to roll out the offering across the fleet later in 2020.

Well done LNER for their initiative with something which without the pandemic might have taken much longer to develop.

And yes smart readers may have noticed that the York-based nationalised railway line featured in AND FINALLY two weeks running.  That has never happened before.  Good luck to them.
