Wizz Air traffic for June

The Hungarian-based London Stock Exchange listed airline Wizz Air has published traffic figures for June and a business update.

Without comment the airline noted a 74% drop in overall seat capacity, with passenger numbers down 86% to just over half a million (v 3.6m June 2019) and a load factor of 52.2%.  To compensate there was a 75% reduction in seat numbers.

On the positive front Wizz Air was able to announce a network growth and three new bases at Bacău (Romania), Dortmund (Germany) and St Petersburg (Russia).  Two new Airbus A320 Neos were added to the fleet and the airline announced a total of 64 new routes.

For the month of June, emissions in grams per passenger/km were 64.3% higher due to the drop in load factor, while total CO2 emissions in tonnes decreased in line with capacity.
