Luton minus easyJet

Rumour has it that easyJet will start flying from Luton Airport, its home base, on Wednesday 1 July.  It already has limited services out of Gatwick, its largest operation (see in this issue). Ryanair has not announced a date.

EasyJet’s problem is the rebooking of passengers and opening up new reservations.  Assuming there is space how long do they give travellers who require a new date to firm up with their departure and return?  Customers will be waiting for as long as possible to sort out their travel arrangements with the current UK arrival rules meaning that a two-week holiday could easily become a month, the final fortnight in quarantine.

In the meantime Wizz is flying a restricted programme as can be seen with this clip of the departure board taken lunchtime Sunday.
