Tarmac Aerosave, the aircraft engineering group recently featured in BTN has opened a fourth site at Paris-Vatry Airport (XCR), in the Grand Est region (France).
With this airport and the existing facilities at Tarbes and Toulouse-Francazal (France) and Teruel (Spain) site Tarmac can accommodate 30 different types of aircraft for storage and maintenance.
The name of the airport is somewhat misleading as it is 100mi from the centre of Paris, 40mi south of Rheims. A former NATO base, known for its large reception capacity, a runway of nearly 4,000m, 24hr opening time and freight activities, Paris-Vatry provides Tarmac Aerosave with urgently needed aircraft parking capacity.
The strong demand for storage from March to May 2020 has accelerated the French group’s expansion project. Despite a 25% extension of total capacity on its three existing sites, 90% of this capacity will be taken by the end of June with the arrival of new aircraft.
Rémi Paillassa has been appointed Project Manager for Paris-Vatry and has already taken up his duties on site.
