The Department for Transport (DfT) has issued some very comprehensive coronavirus guidelines aimed at all those involved in airline and airport operations. The well laid out document is wide ranging and covers the multitude of undertakings many of us take for granted but could be affected by Covid-19.
It points out that for overseas travel it is essential to visit the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website giving up to date information for the 225 countries or territories it covers. It reminds airports that all passengers entering the UK are required to complete a passenger locator form, providing various personal and contact details. There are exemptions for what its terms "is a very small number of cases". Details regarding face coverings are highlighted.
The words of the DfT could not be clearer.
“The UK aviation sector has a diverse range of airports, aircraft, routes and operations. This guidance addresses commercial passenger and freight aviation, business aviation, and some aspects of general aviation. It is up to each organisation to arrive at a suitable risk control strategy.”
