Netherlands opens up

The Dutch Government has formally reopened its borders today (15 June) to travellers from the Schengen zone and the United Kingdom.  Restrictions do apply.

Whilst they are clearly very welcome tourists must reserve their holiday accommodation before travelling. Without a valid reservation they can be refused entry at the border.

The social distancing rule is 1.5m and restaurants and cafes are expected to open their doors and terraces again.  However, visits are only possible on reservation, with a maximum of 30 people inside and taking the 1.5m distance in account.

For holidaymakers, theatres, concert halls, museums, monuments and cinemas can open their doors, once again the Government making it very clear that the rules have to be abided by.

Having lost the flower season all this will be good news for Holland, but no flights at present from most UK airports and Eurostar only goes to Brussels, with connections to Thalys.

Poland too has opened up and is welcoming visitors.
