"This proposal would effectively kill international travel to and from the UK and cause immeasurable damage to the aviation industry and wider UK economy.“Nobody is going to go on holiday if they’re not able to resume normal life for 14 days, and business travel would be severely restricted. It will also make it all but impossible for aviation to resume any time soon, thereby setting back the UK’s economic recovery still further.”
That was Airlines UK official response to speculation that passengers arriving at British airports will be compelled to enter a 14-day quarantine period as part of Government COVID-19 measures.
Speaking to Andrew Marr on BBC TV yesterday morning (3 May) Transport Minister Grant Shapps said the UK was is discussion with other countries regarding reciprocal border arrangements (as reported in Heathrow results in today's BTN).
Probably unique in that it speaks for both IATA and non-IATA carriers, also cargo airlines and charter operators, Airlines UK can truly be said to represent the vast majority of the British airline industry and its support organizations.

A 14-day quarantine seems nonsensical, and also impossible to police. It would make much sense to test crews/passengers on departure before evn getting aboard. That way, anybody with the virus is prevented it from spreading to others on board and also to the public on narrival.
