THIS FROM PAUL KEHOE CBE CEO GULF AIR GROUP
Paul's past appointments have included CEO Luton Airport followed by Birmingham Airport and was a past president of Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce.
He passed through Heathrow Airport Monday morning.
“A few weeks’ back, someone asked me about CV19 and I suggested it reminded me of the impact of the Eyaffjallajökull volcano. I was wrong and way off the mark.
This is far worse. It’s global and it’s going to knock the industry for six. My own view is that Governments will need to intervene. Airlines are the economic airbridges that underpin global connectivity.
Civil aviation is a force for good and we will need to reinvest to ensure it’s success.
Travelling back through LHR I was reading BTN and the lines that we used to experience a few years back. Today Heathrow did a great job keeping the queues moving and I congratulate them on their efforts. No groans from the many tired travellers stressed with their early morning arrival. The airport was busy, but things are going to change!"
