1,000 jobs to fill at Manchester Airport

More than 1,000 roles at Manchester Airport will be on offer and some 25 employers represented at the northern hub’s annual Jobs Fair at the Emirates Old Trafford cricket stadium this Thursday, 12 March, from 10:00 – 15:00.

In addition to the airport, which is seeking security officers and baggage handlers, companies advertising positions include Jet2, which has cabin crew vacancies, Swissport and the Clayton Hotel.

Officials say the event will also give prospective apprentices and graduates a chance to discuss opportunities with programmes at the airport’s in-house academy and through its graduate placement scheme.

Chief operating officer Brad Miller said: “Our previous jobs fairs have proven to be a very effective way of highlighting vacancies at the airport and finding talented people to fill them.

“The number and variety of positions advertised at this year’s event clearly demonstrates the airport’s growth is providing a catalyst for job creation, and we are determined that our neighbouring communities will see the full benefit of that.”

This summer will see the latest phase of Manchester Airport’s £1bn transformation become a reality when a major extension opens at Terminal Two, increasing the size of the building by 150% and creating 32 new shops, bars and restaurants.
