Award for Recaro Economy Class seat

A breakthrough Economy Class long-haul seat, the CL3710, by the Germany-based company Recaro Aircraft Seating has won a Gold from the German Design Awards in the 'Excellent Product Design' category for its sleeping comfort features.

CEO Mark Hiller said: “At Recaro we are always honoured when our work receives an accolade, but it’s even more meaningful to be recognised by such a prestigious organisation.

“The innovative comfort features transform the sleeping experience for the passenger and the lightweight, low-maintenance structure makes it the perfect Economy seat product for airlines.”

The company says in comparison to other Economy Class seats, the CL3710 offers state-of-the-art features that improve support for the sleeping posture, increase privacy, and provide a more spacious "living area".

The Recaro-patented Abrazo headrest offers extra neck support with a six-way adjustable neck pillow, while the extended seat bottom gives improved leg support for a more even weight distribution. A cushion integrated into the backrest gives lower back support.

Hiller added: “By offering numerous comfort features, the CL3710 sets the standard in enhancing the Premium Economy experience while lightweight structure and efficient design help airlines reduce aircraft weight, fuel costs and maintenance expenses.”
