Duxford Air Festival VE Day focus

Fast flying action and special events to mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day will be features of this year’s Duxford Air Festival over the bank holiday weekend of 23–24 May.

The VE Day anniversary will be celebrated by bringing the atmosphere of a 1940s street party to life with a vintage funfair complete with original rides, as well as live music and entertainment inspired by the era.

Visitors are encouraged to dress up in their finest ‘40s fashions and get into the spirit of the festivities which swept across Europe in May 1945.

Action in the sky will be provided by a range of WWII and contemporary aircraft, including the Fokker four aerobatic team’s long-awaited return to the UK and the renowned Aerosuperbatics wing walkers.

Also on show will be Imperial War Museum (IWM) Duxford’s historic hangars with aircraft and objects on display illustrating the lives of those who lived and served in times of conflict, from WWI to the Cold War.

Tickets are available now and cost £36 per adult. Children aged 15 and under go free.
