Marriott's Frankfurt reshuffle

Major changes have been unveiled at Frankfurt Airport with the Sheraton hotel and conference centre redesigned to produce a revamped Sheraton and a new Marriott, bringing two Marriott International brands together in one place for the first time.

Each hotel is distinct and retains individual brand characteristics such as guestrooms, executive lounges and lobby, with other facilities shared, including dining, conference and fitness.

Regional vice-president for premium and select brands John Licence said: “Both brands are transforming the guest experience in their own way, meaning we can offer the best of both at Germany’s largest aviation hub and a key business destination.”

Previously occupying three inter-connected buildings with 1,008 rooms, the Sheraton Frankfurt Airport Hotel & Conference Centre has been divided to produce a 779-room Sheraton hotel and a 233-room Marriott hotel.

All the Sheraton rooms have been refurbished over the past five years and the property will soon also include a new Sheraton Club Lounge.

Rooms at the new Frankfurt Airport Marriott Hotel feature hard-wood flooring, work zones with sofas and flexible tables and stylish lighting. The hotel also features the brand’s signature M Club for relaxing, working and holding meetings.

The Sheraton conference centre has 57 meeting spaces across 4,148sq m. It has been updated with state-of-the-art lighting and more refurbishments are due over the next two years.
